A funny thing happened on my way through Pflugerville...

So I woke up the Saturday morning of Memorial Day Weekend, still getting over a week long illness and expecting to visit a few houses with my Realtor friend Benn, think about them, visit a few more in a few days, think about them, agonize over what a huge decision it was, visit a few more houses, you know, that old story. I was just hoping and praying that I would find something and be ready to close by the end of the summer when I have to move out of my current, nearly showerless, digs.

So much for the best laid plans of mice.

I visited six or seven places in three developments and two towns and signed the contract on the third place I saw by the end of the day. I close next Thursday.

Obviously I'm very excited. It's a great place- a new house in a new development (perfect for a proud Purell®-ophile like myself). It's got three bedrooms (including a master suite), an office, and a large dining area. That leaves two rooms for y'all when you visit. You can fight over who gets the room with Bo (R.I.P.) and my record collection. :) It also comes with appliances (fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher), a two car garage, a security system installed, and a nice size lawn that's not so big that I'll spend my entire weekend mowing it. I even have cows living down the street to remind me I'm still in Texas. The development is so new it's not on Google Earth yet.

Now all I need is furniture (all of it) and everything else you never think about when you rent like hoses, mowers, sprinklers, landscaping tools... geez, now that I think about it what the heck was I thinking!!! Just kidding. I'm very excited.

If there's a downside, it is that I will be forever spelling the name of my town. I will be living in Pflugerville, TX. Say it with me: "Flew-grr-ville, Tejas". Well done!

Check out the preliminary pictures of the happy little home.

Who is Bo?

"Bo" is my guitar signed by Bo Diddley, who died the week before I posted this. "Bo" naturally has his own room in my house.
